First question: What inspired you to become a sustainable label?
Nin castle's reply: Because when I left uni there was a niche market in sustainable design and have always been passionate for sustainable clothing and improving the fashion industry.
Second question: What inspires you to design?
Nin castle's reply: I'm inspired by the idea of creating new, innovative sustainable designs, showcasing the best of sustainable fashion.
Third question: How do you insure your production process is sustainable?
Nin Castle's reply: Well we are a sustainable company and that's our ethos, We use recycled fabric and materials to reduce our clothing to. As we are a small company we used to produce all our clothing in the studio in London, but now we have branched out we have moved our production process to Bulgaria, which is a fully sustainable production process.
fourth question: I know your sustainable clothing is quite cheap, but after doing my own survey most people want to buy sustainable clothing but find it to expensive, if it was cheaper it would be more accessible to people the demand would increase and the awareness of sustainable clothing would rise, could this ever happen?
The main industry works as supply and demand, sustainable clothes shouldn't be cheap enough to meet the demand. They can still be cheap but not "Primark Cheap", it should be out £50 pound for jeans, £60-70 for a dress is what it should cost, if you go below the £40-30 mark then your encouraging bad production. The problem we have is that consumer want cheap clothes, and they don't care how it is made. If everyone wanted sustainable that I bet your bottom dollar everyone would be making sustainable clothing.
